The newest leg of the CORK GRADED MEET took place in CIT last night with three track events (200m,800m, 3000m) and a few field events taking place.

Togher AC had athletes competing in both the 800m and 3000m respectively.

Ist race of the day saw young Liam Hennessey comfortably win the 8oom in a solid time of 2 minutes dead. Liam was racing in his first graded meet and is only coming back from injury but the Inter schools athlete found no trouble in the race.. All signs lead to a strong end of the season for him. Toghers Tony Kelleher finished in 6th and Alan Ring finished one place behind in 7th. Both of these athletes will be focusing on the 1500m in the next few months

In the Last race of the day both Craig Harrington and Eoin Burke competed in the 2nd 3k race.. Eoin took the lead in the early stages but with about two laps to go Craig increased the tempo and pushed on.It was a gutsy move to go from so far out. Both were still in contention with a lap to go but were passed out by 2 other athletes.. Eoin came home strong to finish in 3rd place, with Craig a place behind.. Good running from both and all the other athletes who took part 2 night..
