5k Road Race Awash with Support
It may have been a day for ducks, but the participants, volunteers and supporters at our annual 5k road race truly demonstrated their commitment to the sport. 575 runners took to the streets around Togher on New Year’s Eve, 31st December 2017, running their hearts out. Our Competitions Secretary, Tony Kelleher, did some number crunching; the analysis of the 5k results over the last five years can be found at the end of this post.

Togher AC would like to thank every one of the 575 runners and also those who registered online before the race and who could not make it on the day itself. Proceeds from the road race, are split equally between our partner charity Cork Mental Health Foundation & Housing Association and our club. This year each organisation will receive €4167 each in proceeds from the race. We are thrilled with this outcome and will ensure our share of the money goes to good use towards general club running costs.
