Coach: Doc Doherty
How long have you been running? Since I was 10/11 years old with the school.
What is your proudest moment in athletics? Running the IAAF World Half Marathon 2016 in Cardiff and getting my personal best for a half marathon in the race.
What are the events you do? 5km to half marathons and cross country as well.
What are your main goals for this year? This year I hope to break most of my personal bests and keep on improving under Doc’s guidance.
What is your most memorable race? Winning the John Treacy 10 mile Junior category in Dungarvan last year. So proud of myself that day considering it was the first time I raced 10 miles.
What do you like most about Togher AC? Has to be the people involved in the club you’ve got the people like Doc, Frank, Marjorie, Tony, Mr. Hayes, Dave, Rachel, Eric, Claire and Aidan who have been giving me great encouragement throughout my running career so far and point out what I’m doing wrong so I can improve. No matter if it’s a local 5km race or an All-Ireland they will be always there for you. It doesn’t matter if you’ve just started running with the fit4life/après run or you’re an elite member, the people of Togher AC will always be there for you.
In 5 years time athletics wise, where do you see yourself? Hopefully by then following my coach Doc’s guidance and listening to my club mate’s I’ll be breaking PB’s and maybe doing a full marathon, ha you never know.
Do you have a favourite sporting hero? Yes Robbie Keane, I’m a big Tottenham fan and loved watching Keane playing for Tottenham when I was younger.
Favourite Music Artist/Film/Food? Oasis/The Dark Knight/Chicken and Pasta! 🙂
