When did you start running?
I’ve only being running since October. Had done some running in my teenage years but had done nothing in years. I got back into it through the 0-5k group, which started in October which was the perfect way for me to build up my fitness and running levels. Claire, Louise, Barry, Helen and Michelle were great with their encouragement and advice so a lot of it is down to them. I would definitely recommend the 0-5k as a start up point for anyone who is thinking of getting involved in running.
What events do you do?
I have run 5 and 10k races and currently am training for the Cork City Half Marathon.
What are your main goals for this year?
My main goals for this year are to keep improving my fitness and distance levels and to hopefully better my times as I go on. I’m currently in training for the Cork City half marathon which will be my first so looking forward to see how I get on in that with my running pal Pádraig. 🙂
What do you like most about Togher AC?
What I like most about Togher AC is the friendliness and encouragement given by all at the club. Its rare in big groups that everyone gets on and whether its on the road, track or circuits there’s always a bit of friendly banter and a laugh between us.
In 5 years time, athletics wise, where do you see yourself?
I hope to have done a few marathons and possibly one abroad.
Who are your sporting heros?
My favourite heroes are ex-Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez and former Irish international Paul McGrath.
What’s your favourite Music/ Film/ Food:
U2, The Empire Strikes Back and Bacon Cheeseburgers 🙂
