How long have you been running?
Since I joined Togher AC about 3 years ago.
What events do you compete in?
800m on the track and up to 3.5k Cross Country. I prefer cross country as you get to travel to more places and there’s different courses and so more variety.
What’s your main goal for this year?
I would love to make the Irish cross country schools team. I’d be representing Ireland in the Schools International XC Championships in Scotland.
What’s your most memorable race?
My second ever county cross country competition under 14. I won it by 100m and felt really good.
What do you like most about Togher AC?
When I started running, I didn’t know any other club really. I came to Togher because my Dad ran for Togher when he was younger. I like training with the lads, it can be good fun.
In 5 years time, athletics wise, where do you see yourself?
I’d like to get a scholarship to America. My Dad got one when he was younger but he never took it. It’s something I’d like to do and continue running over there and go to a good college.
Do you have a favourite sports hero?
Rob Heffernan. Rob grew up with my Dad and he’s my brother’s God Father. He walked for Togher and won the world championships and came fourth (third) in the Olympics. He’s inspirational!
