Munster Juveniles take to the Podium

The Munster U14-U19 Outdoor Track & Field Championships took place over the weekend of Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th June 2017 in Cork Institute of Technology.

Chris O’Reilly had an excellent race taking first place in the U17 3000m in 9:19.92.  Pictured below is Chris as Munster Champion. Well done to Chris and to coach Steve Macklin.

In her second Munster Championships, Aisling O’Shaughnessy (U15) had a 7 second PB in the 2000m race walking competition. Aisling finished in a superb second place in 12:35.59. Congratulations to Aisling and coaches Frank Doherty and Dave O’Keeffe.

Sean Fouhy is in cracking form and he had a fantastic second place finish in the U19 800m race. Sean finished in 2:07.28 supported by his coach Doc Doherty. Well done Sean and Doc.

Sean Fouhy (U19) Silver Medal in the 800m.

In the U18 Javelin Throw 700gr, Kevin Jelenak had a fantastic third place finish in 45.61m. Congratulations to Kevin and to his coach Denise Murphy.

Sally Naughton was fourth in the U19 400m sprint under the guidance of Mr. John Hayes. Chris, Aisling, Sean, Kevin and Sally all qualify for the Nationals and we will be cheering them all on in their endeavours. Well done to all.

Matthew McCarthy had a very good race and ran a PB in the 800m and finished 6th, 2:11.09. Michael Cullinane and James Cuddigan ran in the U15 800m race. They had two solid races and came in 9th and 11th place. Conor Higgins took on the U16 200m sprint and placed 14th. Congratulations on your performances, everyone in Togher AC is very proud of you.
