BHAA Garda 5k (5th July)

Congratulations to our athletes who ran the Cork BHAA Garda 5k in Mahon on Wednesday 5th July. Chris O’Reilly’s time was not counted as he was one of the three first runners sent the wrong way, however he still ran a great race. Well done also to Brian O’Callaghan, Helen Walsh (4th FO40), Adil Cahit Ansaroglu, Rachel O’Callaghan, Niamh Sheehan, Mary O’Halloran, Margaret Murphy, Yvonth Gough & Sheila O’Mahony.

Old Head of Kinsale (9th July)

What a beautiful day it was on Sunday 9th July for the Old Head of Kinsale 7km race. Congratulations to club mates who took part; Andrew Maher, who was 4th person over the line, Brian Maher (9th), Padraig O’Herlihy, Bernard Coleman, Valerie Hennessy with her son Cian and Kathryn Salter with her son Will. Great to see such participation by everyone in the summer races. Well done all.

BHAA Dell EMC 4 Mile Road Race (13th July)

On Thursday 13th July, 10 of our athletes completed the BHAA Dell EMC 4 Mile road race. Chris O’Reilly had a great race and was 7th person over the line (21:40). Congratulations to Brian Maher, Helen Walsh who was first female O40 and Rachel O’Callaghan who was 3rd female O40. Both Helen and Rachel are consistently placing in their categories in the BHAA races this year. Well done also to  Bernard Coleman, Padraig O’Herlihy, Mary O’Halloran, John O’Callaghan, Frank Linehan who was 2nd in the O65 category, Fergus O’Halloran and Margaret Murphy. See full results HERE

Carrigtwohill 5k (19th July)

The Carrigtwohill Charity 5k took place on Wednesday 19th July. There were cooler temperatures in comparison to previous days, a welcome respite for the participants. Great running by Brian Maher, Robert Cahill (new club member), Frank Linehan, Colin McTaggart and Kevin Moore. Full results HERE.

Munster Mountain Running Association Rochestown Woods Trail Run (19th July)

This year 81 runners took part in the 5.6km trail race in Rochestown Woods near Cork City. Gavin Roche, Helen Walsh and Mary Beth Ryan took part. While familiar territory due to the Fit4Life group training in the woods on occasion, the route took a different direction their training runs. These races are challenging and exhilarating all at once, given the terrain. Congratulations to Gavin, Helen and Mary Beth for flying the Togher AC flag and for really good running.

Garryvoe 5k Road Race (21st July)

Padraig O’Herlihy was Togher AC’s sole representative the inaugural Garryvoe 5k road race on Friday 21st July. Padraig ran a personal best and super time of 22:48 despite the hilly route. Padraig’s training is going so well and his times are improving with each race. An inspiration to all Fit4Lifers he is!!

Run Killarney Half Marathon

Helen Walsh, Mary Beth Ryan and Robert Woulfe ran the Killarney half marathon on Saturday 22nd July. Helen Walsh ran a blinder in a time of 01:35:33 and was the 8th woman over the line and 3rd in the O40 category. Mary Beth Ryan also had a super race with a personal best of 01:46:57.  Robert had a fantastic run and completed the race in 01:56:17. Congratulations to you all.
