Fit4Life

Fit4Life is designed to give people the opportunity to get fit and enjoy running in structured  environment. Participants set their own goals and are assisted by the trained Fit4Life leaders in the club. The emphasis is on  improving fitness in a fun, sociable environment and no previous experience is required. All  ability levels are catered for and participants exercise with others of a similar fitness level.

How It Works

At each run qualified Fit4Life leaders are there to welcome you and people of all fitness levels are welcome to come along. It is aimed at people who are non-competitive runners at all levels from those who have never ran before to seasoned marathon runners. The training nights feature group runs, with plenty of chat. People of similar fitness levels run together. Members enter 5k, 10k, half and full marathon road races throughout the year. There is an emphasis on support and friendship and the members gather for tea/coffee or brunch after most training runs! The group also organises at least one trip abroad each year to a half marathon/marathon.

Generally the group meets at the following days:

– Tuesdays at 7.15pm starting from Mardyke Arena (3 mile run followed by optional track speedwork)
– Thursdays at 6.15pm at Harty’s Quay Car Park, Rochestown (3 or 5 mile run) –
– Sundays at 9am in Blackrock Castle Car Park (down the steps from the castle) (8-10 mile or shorter/longer run)

From time to time training runs may vary slightly and are all posted on the following meetup site https://www.meetup.com/Apres-Run-Cork.
