Rosscarbery Surf, Turf n’Tar

On Saturday 20th May, a number of Togher AC athletes took part in the Rosscarbery Surf Turf ‘n’ Tar Half Marathon and 10k races. The routes were along a combination of beach, road, forest and trails. Participants were treated to stunningly beautiful scenery along the way, which made the particularly tough routes more palatable!

The best idea in the world – Chocolate Medals!

Great results for everyone given the type of terrain and that there were very heavy downpours throughout the first hour. Thank you to the Rosscarbery Surf, Turf n’Tar team and the Celtic Ross Hotel for the efforts they went to in organising the race – every detail was covered and very much appreciated by all who took part from our club. Well done to Togher’s athletes and to coach Frank Doherty.

County Masters Track & Field

There were fantastic results from the County Masters track & field championships in CIT on Sunday 21st May, when Ian Tivy came first and is now County Champion in the Senior Men’s 1500m. In the same race, club mate Tony Kelleher came in 2nd place. Incredible performances by two incredible athletes. Congratulations and well done to you both.
